ticking is o.k. i have a rwd and i can hear the ticking. but i have no rattles or vibrations. depends on how hard your car is vibrating it may be the motor mounts. but with such few miles i doubt it,but again you never know. maybe spark plugs.what i would do first is open the hood, remove engine covers and start car. look to see if the whole engine is shaking.

Default Rough idle - some of it is normal

I am a new owner for a 2008 GS-350 AWD. I am used to driving cars with manual transmissions. Back in late 2015 my wife and I had to get new cars because of a move and we both ended up with cars with auto transmissions. I find that all cars with auto transmissions seem to idle a bit rough while waiting at a light. I think I am more sensitive to it because I am accustomed to idling with a car in neutral. The vibration probably has to do with the transmission. My wife does not notice it; I do.

The shift lever setup in the GS makes it easy to shift to neutral while waiting at a light. I know if I am going to be there long enough, I just push the lever to neutral. I hope this is not bad for the car; it is not as if I am trying to coast down a hill (very, very bad idea).
