nigel: you have pm.
The 4200k are a perfect match for the oem hids at 4300k. From far away, i.e. 25 feet, they match perfectly, but if you look at them close up, the color is a bit off (more reddish). See picture 3 in the after shots. I think this has to do with the lens. I just don't think it's possible to have a perfect match up close and far, but from far away, they are a perfect match. Hope that answers your question.

thx trdsol23, i think i'll try the 4200K and see how it turns out

edit: trdsol23, quick question for you...do you know if your philips 4000K led light is the same as this philips ultinon led W5W park lights?

link: http://cgi.ebay.ca/PHILIPS-ULTINON-L...item415839c9f5

i guess my confusion is that your philips says interior white light (which should be used for the interior of the car?), but the link i posted above clearly shows that it is a parking led?

The packaging looks a little bit different, but the bulbs look exactly the same. Holy cow thats a rip off, $60? It does say they are for interior use, but I don't really see why we can't use them for parking lights. I've had them running for a week now and have driven 10+ hours in the dark and they seem fine to me.

The sample I got look like this one, instead of the poster one.

I think it has 6000k and 6700k

Did some research. Looks like these are 45 lumen from the packaging. These might not be an exact match but the vled forward firing 5000k LEDs are rated 105 lumen...vled for me. Even though i already have the flanks, I may switch to the forward firing since the viewing angle is 300 compared to the 120 on the flanks.

Wondering if you got a price update on the Philips T10 4k lights I'm thinking getting them (finally). Also, are these a simple install? Just out with the old, in with the new?

Want to make sure there's no shortage, warning lights, etc.. since I know nothing about electricity.

Comming from IS forums - If your daytime lights is the highbeam lights, then yes it will because you will lose the ability to switch to high beam. On the IS (from 2010 cars and earlier) anyways, the highbeams run at 30% power for daytime.

I have the 6000K installed in my car.
