Hey guys, I own a 2006 GS300 for 4 years and I have about 90k miles on it. Just suddenly today when I went to go turn the car on, I hear a rapid loud clicking noise and the engine will not start. I've done some googling and one possible solution is to disconnect the battery to let the car reset and then connect it back.
Any ideas on what the cause is? I've replaced the spark plugs a few months ago, but I didn't replace the battery.
I agree. I'd try this. Just replaced my battery in 2006 G35 with 46k miles. It had the same clicking noise when trying to start. Let us know how it goes!
Yeah I almost electrocuted myself with jumper cables this morning... I accidentally touched them together and saw sparks. Anyway yes, it was the battery. I went to Sears and bought the Die Hard Platinum battery and all is well!
I have a 2006 Lexus gs300 and I accidentally left it in auxiliary for about 30 minutes yesterday. It started fine but within a couple hours the car radio went in and out, the steering wheel became hard to control and the car felt like it was trying to die. I made it to a shop and they said that my battery had a dead cell. So I bought a new battery it started right up. I drove it last night with no problem and when I went to the store this morning the car completely died. Nothing will come on and the car will not lock the doors. Any suggestions?
Sounds like your alternator...a brand new battery would have enough juice to run the car for a little while, but since it isn't charging as you drive, it dies.

I replaced the Alternator and Battery. The car wont turn over. The ignition starter is red. Do I need to check fuses?
