2010 GS350 catalytic converter/throttle ??
Hey guys im having some trouble with my 2010 GS350,
I start the car, the car revs up high then goes down just above 1000rpm, it idles there fine, then i tried to give it a rev but it seems my throttle wont give any power until i floor it then it barely revs up, even at half throttle the rpm wont move? the motor has no power, so then i left it to idle and looked around the engine bay to see my catalytic converter glowing red HOT, i immediately shut the car off. i turned it back on and now its like the car wants to shut off. Is this a misfire, back coils, TPS problem, sensors, i checked the fuses and there fine.
Any help or basic idea of what this problem is will be more then accepted.

Google is better than staying at a Holiday Inn Express ...
"Something is causing raw unburned fuel to be sent down the exhaust pipe where the cat "burns" this fuel. The cat is designed to burn the tiny amount of unburned fuel that comes from a normal engine. Now, if you pour excessive hydrocarbons (fuel) in the exhaust, the cat will burn that too and since it's burning too much fuel it glows red hot. This won't last very long, this is very damaging to the cat. The catalyst can get hot enough to melt. And that won't take long! And when it melts, then you will have a blob of molten metal blocking the exhaust pipe (now it's clogged!) and the engine will stop operating. At that point, the only fix is replacement of the catalytic converter."
Sounds like you better not drive it. Call you dealership and let them advise you on how they want to transport the car to them. Annoying, but warranty should cover everything.

I looked all over Google, found nothing that was close to what i was experiencing, idk if its because of the year of the car or what ever.
i didn't know bad catalytic converters mess up the cars accelerator, weird.
but thanks, the dealer was called and the appointment was set.

My swag that you had some blockage in the exhaust caused by melting of the cat. Sounds like this could cause your symptoms. I offer this as a guess knowing that it's academic since you're already taking it in.
Anyone else have an opinion?

Just Wanted to update those who are interested in knowing what the problem was that was causing the red cat and the accelerator to die.
A burnt Fuse (ECTS)
Dealer didn't even charge me :] , but he did say i need a new cat :/

Well, are they giving you a new cat then? It only takes a burnt fuse to cause all of that trouble and you didn't even get any warning dummy lights? Scary.
Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor? Wouldn't you have noticed the temperature gauge on your dash reading oddly?
