Default Tires: want your input

I was curious to know if any 3rd gen owners have run the bridgestone RE760 on their cars. My last set were the RE960 and I loved them but with the new wheels I decided to try the 760. I was told that they would be quieter than the 960 and have better handling. Well they handled better especially in taking corners but seem to be louder. I am curious to know if some of that can be attributed to the wider wheels? I was 8.5 all around b4 and know am staggered.

Hey Ron, I to noticed a bit more noise when I changed wheels and tires, I do think it is because of the wider tires more of a contact patch on the road, that being said running 295's in the rear that's a lot of rubber on the ground! Love those wheels on your car!

Thanks Mike. I tend to agree with you there. I did end up changing back to the RE960 (bridgestone has a 30 day return/exchange policy) and I have to say the ride comfort is better and slightly less road noise than the RE760. RE960 FTW........

No surprise the 960 is quieter.

960 = Performance all season tire.

760 = High performance tire.

All seasons are always more quiet and comfortable. They also usually have less grip. Since we aren't racing, I do the all season thing cause I value quiet.

Totally agree but the gentleman at DT told me the RE760 would be quieter plus I would get better handling since its a Sport tire. Tire racks rating for both was equal in noise and comfort but after that first drive I could hear and feel the difference.......got RE960 put back on and loving it again
