I have a year or 11k miles to get a warranty from Jerry. I'm heavily leaning in favor of doing it, however..

How is it determined that it is a malfunction, and not just merely "wear and tear?" Couldn't they just say that the issues you present to them under the platinum warranty are not a failure of the manufacturing but just wear and tear? Does a dealer fixing stuff under warranty get less economic benefit than you paying out of pocket yourself?

It does not benefit the dealer to try and void your claim. The dealer gets paid by the extended warranty. Customers typically pay a little more for parts and labor than the warranty does but it is still usually in the best interest of the dealer to get things covered or at least not hurt your chances of doing so.

Note to Canadian Lexus owners:

Purchasing extended warranty from Jerry at Midwest Toyota will only work if:
1) your car has a US vin number and;
2) you have a US postal address

Canadian cars (ie with Canadian vin numbers) are out of luck (I tried).

Call or email Jerry. I saved a lot of money by purchasing a 8 year / 75 K, $0 deduct Platinum from Jerry Johnson. He provides you with all details in either an email and over the phone.

Just got a 7yr/100 Platinum from Jerry for my 08 GS. Best price by far, and bought myself 55,000 miles or 3 years of peace of mind. As stated before, he has it down to a science. No extra fees or sales tax for Kansas non-residents. Just make sure you have your VIN#, and take a picture of your odometer with a current newspaper (showing date) to prove mileage.

FWIW I purchased the 8 yr/75k mile warranty from Jerry last June - the car was going out iof the original warranty a month later. I recently took the car in to my dealer for a noisy sunroof and faulty CD player. The extended warranty took care of everything, including the loaner, both when the sunroof motor was being replaced, and a week later when the new radio/CD player arrived and was installed.

Hey guys what are the prerequisites for getting an extended warranty?

I just spoke with Jerry from midwestsuperstore.com he says that he only does Lexus that
are with in 4 years and 50k miles ?

I have a 2007 GS350 60k my warranty expires 8-15-2013 or at 70k .

Please advise.

Default Extended warranty

Hello guys, I bought a used car from a lexus dealer in new York that is a little more than 4 years. So the factory warranty has expired. The dealer quoted warranty for 5/60 is more then 3000. Jerry said since my warranty had e cc paired already, I have to buy the extended warranty from the Dahlgren itself. Any idea what are the other options for me? Would you recommend any other warranties like carchex or endurance or direct warranty ?

if you cant find a warrenty take the 1600 and put it in the bank and put $50 a week you will have 2600 a year plus your 1600 and use it for repairs,only if you cant find a warrenty
