I don't pay attention...coming from a hybrid...obviously this car is not as good so I just figure it is what it is.

I used to average 380km when I fill up, but I got my ecu reset by the dealership after some work was done, and today to my surprising, I got 480KM after a fill up =D !!! So to everyone with crappy consumption, get your ECU reset!!

Its interesting. This reset changes the gear shift patterns. What happened is the car must have noticed you are an aggressive driver and adapted to an aggressive shift pattern which gives you the shifting style suited for your aggressive driving, but reduces fuel efficiency. Now with the reset, it is being more conservative and shifting early, however you probably find it is also less responsive because it is in high gears all the time to save petrol.

A tankful of city driving is terrible - 15 MPG. Recently I went round trip L.A. to Palm Springs (256 miles) averaging 71 MPH with the a/c on - 29.94 MPG.

379 was the # after my fill-up this weekend. this was after i got around 24 mpg in mixed highway/city driving on the previous tank.

highway i proved that the 300awd can get over 32 mpg when using cruise control set to 60 mph for 250 miles.

i also probably would get 15 or even less in extreme city driving, such as in midtown manhattan during rush hour where it takes me 20 minutes to travel one mile.

Default 08 gs 350 rwd

When I bought my 2008 gs350 RWD a month ago I used to get 385 on odometer “approximate range” it was only for 1 time, the previous owner says I put only 87octane 😤,, so when I owned it I start using 91octane from chevron so now I get 345mi to 360mi the gas here in San Diego California $4.99 a gallon so fill up a tank almost $75 😩 so I’m wondering after switch from 87 to 91 grade why I’m not getting the same 385mi !!!?

woow, that’s very impressive, when I purchased the car like 2 month ago I used to read on the dash 385mi “approximate range” now It reads 350mi after switching to 91 octane, previous owner used to use 87 octane ,, Today was my second drain n fill and I’m looking to change spark plugs within the next week and changing the ignition coil pack as well maybe that will result in improving gas mileage I changed the engine filter, also I used Lucas engine fuel cleaner once, not sure if there’s anything still missing could improving gas Mileage !!?

Yeah I have a '08 GS 350 RWD with 97k miles on it, I have never gotten past 271 miles full range after a fill-up with either Shell Nitro V-Power or Costco 91, which is what I use 90% of the time. My mom's '08 same exact spec GS 350 doesnt get over 225 miles so I'm thankful for that. Has anyone actually been able to improve their cruising range?, because I would love to know how!

Best, Norm
