it is a carbon wrap. No special materials, just paints and the carbon film. We used a hydro graphics tank, in which you lay the film in a tank and you dip the parts onto the film. The company I work for does some aftermarket work on the side of its main business. The site is called Griptunning.com. I will see if I like the blue today when its sunny outside. I was kinda back and forth on the color of blue, but I wanted something to breakup all that carbon. What colors do you think would work best?? I am rolling with the Smokey Granite right now.
Iknowspurg, if it was me, I'd wrap it in the 3m Dinoc wrap that Aerotect sells instead of the wrap you used. The wrap, imo, looks a little "tacky" and you can tell it's one of those cheap carbon wraps that ricers use on there honda's. But that's just me, sorry if I sound critical.
MY option is would be either use the 3m dinoc CF wrap and wrap the whole thing (like the f-sport cover) or 3m CF wrap the sides like you did and paint the center the same color as the car or Glossy Black.
The blue is the same blue from the F-series. The plan is to powdercoat the calipers in the same blue; I am still on the fence about the blue; but I figured red had been done over and over; esp with calipers.
The other pieces are done and here are Iphone pics.

Reason: added photo
The one problem that I ran into is that the cover that has the blue paint has a different surface than the other 3 pcs; they are way more textured than the center cover. This causes a distortion when comparing the pieces even though all pieces were all done at the same time.
I am not sure what the guys used. Some aftermarket Hydro graphics process that we have as a side business. The rest is just paint and high temp clear coat. I will be taking the side pieces off and hitting them again with more clear; probably 2 more coats. THANKS TO ALL WHO HAVE RESPONDED. YOUR COMMENTS ARE APPRECIATED.
I may get a braided hoses, but no real engine mods. Next will be brakes, tint and 20" wheels down the road.

As a new member of the Lexus Family (2wks with my 07 350), it did not take me long to decide on my first mod. I am going to work on the engine bay. I told the guys at last week's ATL meet I was working on it and it is almost complete. Here are preview pics...
Nice meeting you Saturday and when you told me your plans I didn't know I'd see results so quick. Looks great.
