Default GS issues

I am looking at a 2006 GS 300 and want to find out what the issues have been and what I need to be worried about?
Car has 50k miles and nav but no ML.

if the car is at 50k then you cant get a lexus extended warranty. it would have to be a 3rd party warranty. if you do, make sure you read what it all covers and how payment for repairs work.

Lexus warranty is available for 36-50,000 miles from time of purchase.

The early 3 GS models are known for dash rattle. There was also an issue with water leaks on some very early models. I would try to make sure that the car you buy is CPO or is at least at a mileage point where you can extend the warranty. I just bought the platinum package for my GS350 that covers until 125k miles

How much did you pay?
They are asking $2,600 for a 50k mile extended.

Search around this forum. The Lexus platinum on an '06 GS300 is available from a Lexus dealer in CT for around $1,750 (50K/6years I believe). For the Lexus (manufacturer) warranty extension, the car has to be within it's original 50K/4 year warranty.

As far as problems, others have commented, but you should also make sure the car has gotten the following three "service campaigns" (recalls) taken care of:
- Steering
- Brakes (rear I believe)
- Fuel rails.
