So you're telling me that $400 bulbs are going to last longer than 8 sets of OEM bulbs from ebay? Spock would roll in his grave at your logic.
Well...I guess my logic is right about...LOL...HDMI vs. HID?!?!.......but $400 HID bulbs last me 2 and half years/almost 70,000 miles, so far I have no complaint..I LOVE THEM!!! I'm just paying for the comfortability....

My $60 MobileHID bulbs last me about 3 years (and 58,000 miles later) so far without any problems. They'll probably last even a few more years unless I get bored with the color. Most bulbs are rated at least 2000+ hours. Even my $35 HIDExtra bulbs I'm running on my fogs have been running fine for over a year without even one flicker. I agree, sometimes you can never be too sure of what you get from Ebay. As long as you get it from a decent vendor, you're okay. Over $400 for bulbs are just ridiculous. Unless they're running at 55 watts, they can't be any much brighter.
With the HDMI cable analogy, it's a placebo effect. People think they're getting clearer sound and picture with an expensive cable, when in fact they're identical. Much like how your HIDs that are (at least) 3x the price may seem brighter and last longer. To any bystander, I doubt that he would be able discern any difference in luminosity of your bulbs compared to cheaper alternatives (barring the difference in color that varies among every bulb manufacturer).
