Wiper Inserts

I replaced both of the the windshield wiper inserts on my '06 GS300 today. I put the inserts in the same "direction" that the old ones were, meaning the "catches" of the inserts are towards the bottom of the blades/inserts (relative to the windshield when they are turned on).

In my German cars, these "catches" were at the top of the blades.

It appears I can turn the inserts around on the GS so that the "catches" are at the top of the windshield, but honestly, I just want to do it right...and right now I don't know, pardon the pun, which way is up!

Any wisdom on the correct positioning of the wiper inserts from CL would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks.

True, but I have to believe there is a more-correct way, perhaps based on the stress put on the blade based on movement at the top, versus the bottom (the total distance covered, the circumference, is indeed different).

Anyways, the Engineer in me just wants to know! But you are right, all-in-all, as long as it stays on, well....

Well, since you put it that way, the centrifugal force on top of the wiper will be greater. Meaning that if the wiper is going to fall off, it will fall off thru the top. Knowing that, it’s better to clip the wiper in the bottom, so there is no force to bunch the wiper insert upward. All this is irrelevant since your wiper do not go fast enough to generate enough centrifugal force
