Lexus does not want to fix rattles on CPO GS430
Is that normal? I just got this car a month ago and they did some work on the rattles a few weeks ago with some success. Today a called in to get door rattles fixes and they said it's not covered under CPO warranty. WTF??
It states in the CPO description that before the car is certified they fix all the rattles in the car. But these guys obviously did a crapy job diring the certification and now telling me they wont do it at all.
Please help.

I would call Lexus Corporation and get them involved. I'm in the same boat as you with the rattles plus excessive brake dust on a '06 CPO GS430. Got it 1 month ago. Dealer was reluctant but Lexus called and now I need to go in for a inspection before it's a go.

If they were to apply known fixes to dash and doors before they sold me the car as they should have done, this would not be an issue. I only have a car for 1 1/2 months.
Bottom line is that they CPOed a car by skipping on a few steps, I wonder what else the skipped out out 161 step instection??

You are correct, however one of the requirements to a Lexus to become certified is to ensure that the car is rattle free as much as possible. It's one of the bullet points under CPO description. My dealer told me that they do not fix rattles because it cuts into the profit and they need to raise the price of the car. I found that statement just crazy.

When Lexus 1st came out with the CPO program, it was the best in the industry. Their used cars were as nice as new. Much like anything else, the bean counters had their say and found ways for cost cutting. If it makes you feel any better, none of the other manufacturers cover rattles under their CPO program.

My dealer deals with rattles and stuff like this on my CPO cars without question. Take your business somewhere else.

I have had dash drama so I have to agree. I had my dash removed 3 times. Then they replaced it. Now the dash rattle has been replaced by a console creak. I am learning to just not tune into every little creak and slight interior rattle but I will have them address it at the next service.
