Took it out and promptly forgot that I needed anything like it in the car.
LOL at least I use my cassette tape adapter once in a long while... it's horrible. I think it have only one speaker. I can't find one with 2 speakers (stereo).
i thought they eventually got a firmware that fixed your problem?
Yeah I did after ages of fighting with it, then one day I upgraded the firmware again in order to take advantage of some new android integration features and it bricked the unit and the company would do nothing to help me. That was when I decided I was done with them.
You're lucky you skipped the like 2 years it took them to figure out how to make a firmware that didn't cause the device to lock up every time you start the car. My advice to you is if it works now, never update the firmware again. I wish I traveled back in time to tell myself this. I'm a weirdo that finds new firmware for just about anything irresistible, but I have never bricked anything applying a factory firmware before and even stuff that I've messed around with unofficial custom firmwares I have never been in a situation where I have not been able to get it into a fail safe mode that allowed me to get around a brick. Both the software and the upgrade process on these things is really amateur hour.
