^ come on..."done with mods" I have heard that one before

Seriously your car looks fine and their isnt too much more you can do with it...or need to for that matter. Just sell the F-Sport or take it back and get the Injen intake. You will get what your looking from that. I just picked up one to "test" out myself since they really dont make anything for the GS430. This also is the same as the factory pipe so no CEL with this one if it fits.

In the end I didnt want my car to sound like my G35 did ( damn that thing was hardcore), but I wanted a little more growl at the high rpm range

^ I will post a video for you and you can see if you like the one I am going to test out. I have a V8 so it will be a little different but should be able to give you an idea. I think it would sound good on your car.

Unhappy Intake noise?

I bought the K&N typhoon intake kit (Lexus was too slow with the F-Sport assc for the GS). Nice pick up and tone note. I just got the F-Sport exhaust and the tone note mellows out. Please note any 3.5L isn't gonna produce serious notes regardless of upgrades . 2007 GS350 rwd

I have to disagree. My G35 sounded like a race car at WOT. It had larger headers, high flow cats and a Borla cat back system. The motor had a full intake and larger intake plenum . It sounded amazing. It would rattle the interior trim pieces on the B pillars and would always set off car alarms in parking lots. Very different from the set up on the GS

We recently bought a 2011 GS AWD and I am considering an intake, either the K&N Typhoon, Joe-Z (with drop in filter) or the F-Sport. Like the OP, I too am looking for a nice sound so I'm leaning towards the Typhoon. I've read that the 2IS F-Sport uses the same tube as as the 3GS but has a lower airbox that gets replaced by one with, essentially, a hole cut in to it. Can anyone tell me if the configuration for the 3GS can be cut like the 2IS or is it completely different and no modifications can be made without negatively affecting the intake? Also, not that it's super important, but does anyone have dyno numbers from intake mods for the 3GS (I've seen ones from the 2IS).

Although I haven't seen the actual numbers, it is actually possible you will LOSE hp with the K&N intake as it is pulling in hot air from the engine compartment as opposed to cooler air from the outside. The F-Sport is a copy cat of the Joe-Z so the hp gain is the same. Yes, you can cut a hole in the airbox the same as is on the 2IS F-sport. It will increase the sound but have no impact on the hp.

I went with the K&N Typhoon on my GS350 never had a problem with it no cell and the sound was nice at WOT. the only thing is you should remove it in the winter months as your car will run richer especially from a cold start.

I guess it's b/c of the different engine. Joe-Z doesn't make a pipe for your car? K&N has a drop-in filter that you can buy.
