I think a nylon washer on both sides makes more sense.
I agree, the washer solution is a much more elegant, interim solution, however, it requires the removal of the sways to do it correctly. I am not sure that they won't be crushed by the sways "lip," over time though. The foam solution performed by my dealer doesn't rely on the adhesive, whatsoever. It is counter pressure - they wrapped the end of the swap in felt, and then shoved the whole thing into the bushing, which was also filled with foam - so the bushing is holding the sway's felt in place, and vice versa. The beauty of this is that is still has a bit of give, when our 3500lb car needs a little flex, so we're not maginalizing the flexibility of the rubber bushing that much. The only problem I see, in this solution, is that when/if Lexus issues a fix (new bushing or sway, likely the former as it's probably more cost effective), the adhesive may leave a mess....lol. However, as I cannot see the sway unless I have dropped the rock guard, I don't give a rat's a$$. LOL. And, in the short-term, I can drive my car like a "bat outta hell!"

Seriously, these sways make a huge difference.... I cannot wait to confirm whether I can drop my 460 and get 19's too! I will post that solution shortly as well (assuming Lexus corporate responds).

Darrel @ Sewell says I should charge corporate for my time on this....Wingster, you with me? LMAO

In the mean time is it ok to drive around with the knocking? Any damage it may cause on the Car or the sway bars itself?

Leeladisky: So where do we go from here? You have been working with Darrel and your dealership, has Lexus Corp been notified of the details of the problem? Have they responded?

Darrel has told me that he has engaged my regional person. If I understand it correctly, Lexus technical and F-sport engineering dismissed the problem out-of-hand, stating that my GS460 is not a compatible fitment (which we know if nonsensical, being as the 350 has the same OEM front sway part # and the noise is from the front). However, now that 350 owners are also complaining of the issue, Lexus cannot dismiss it so calously. I will wait to see what Darrel or my regional person comes back with, which I'm sure will not take that long!

I think for now, Sewell Lexus (or whoever you purchsed the kit from) should send us a modified OEM bushing wth bigger opening to fix knocking problem!!!

Once Lexus have correct the error, Lexus should credit $$$ back to the seller!!!

i don't think that's the right way. if that's found to be the problem, then lexus should design and make new bushings and then send out new correct bushings to all sway owners

My thoughts exactly... and for those of us with problems, warranty waiver for our temporary fixes due to the issues and disconnects with installing dealers.

CORRECTION!!!

My bad, I forgot to mention that my suggestion is for "temporary fix" till Lexus redesign the bushing. Then they should send out the new bushing to ones who have purchased the sway bars and credit $$$ back to the sellers!!!
