I know guys daily driving there awd alot lower than that in the city!

there is a good bit of contradictory info here,Most wheels are staggered anyway,sizes in the front and rear for tires will be considerably different,the rear wheels obviously dont have to turn so you can get a way with more.
Im guessing that if someone is running a 245/35/20 in the front on a wheel with a 38 or so offset,it must be rubbing cause the car is dropped pretty far.
From what I gather most wheel companies making wheels that actually fit the gs are between 42 to 45 in the rear,Im wondering if the rear fender tabs where trimmed a bit if a 275/35/20 would work with a 45 offset if the car where not dropped at all.

Most people are rubbing with those sizes cause the tires are over spec and the overall diameter of the wheel is to large, this will throw off the speedo and probrably isn t the most ideal for the transmission, rear dif and so on and so forth. The ideal size for a 20 staggered is a 245/30/20 and a 285/25 or 275/25-20 as some would prefer. A+45 on a 10.5 is pretty conservative but this also my opinion good luck!

hmmm,a 25 isnt gonna work for me,With a conservative offset with the wheel further tucked,you would be able to run a taller side wall with out stretching or rubbing right? does anyone know the most agro offsets that will work on a gs still keeping the tire on max contact patch for hard cornering?I want to run 19s or 20s but will still be concerned with performance more than look even with this large a wheel.
I know they will not perform like a 18 but i can live with the middle ground

^^ Then you should stick wit the 19 if you want a taller side wall the a 245/30 has the same size sidewall as a 285/25 they are almost exact. The 2nd number in a tire size represents a % of the width of the tire this is called aspect ratio and the aspect ratio of those two sizes are the same

yes im aware of the ratio,but even still every 25 series tire you see looks like a band aid in comparison to 35s unless you are talking 305plus I wouldnt consider running a 245 in a 30 either,that is why im looking into offsets to run a thicker side wall for a plush ride,I prolly wont be lowering the car either,unless it still feels to loose in corners,even then it will prolly be bigger sway bars then if its still too much,maybe a set of slightly lower stiffer fsport or similar springs.I dont think springs would live long on the gs if the comfort ride suffered much. I havnet really decided what I can live with yet with body roll,I have another sports car for ultimate handling,so my primary goal for this car is what it was built for,a lux car for a soft quite ride with a sporty edge

it would certainly help if i could ride in a gs that was lowered,there are so many disadvantages to a lowered car where i live. Coming from the supra world ive yet to ride in a lowered one that is anything close to comfortable. but at the same time they are not made to be and arent really daily drivers. While the lex is made to be comfortable and a DD. I cant even get a agro lowered sports car into my driveway without a production of wood blocks.So if i do drop its going to be super minimum at this point

Trust me, if you are putting larger wheels on your GS, your ride is going to get rougher. I've been lowered with all kinds two sets of springs and now coils. The F-sport, which was a near stock ride, tanabe DF-210's which was a bit bouncier, and now Megan EZ coils, which is close to stock again. I think you would like the ride of the F-sport springs with maybe some 19's (which is also what I was rolling when I had the F-sport springs and tanabe's). Near stock ride, but a bit more sporty. You cant escape the loss of comfort, but trust me, when you lower it and put those wheels on, you'll never want it stock again..

Oh and with my offset and height, I do rub in the rear a little if I have more than three people and I hit a hard dip. Other than that, its all good and I'm loving the look.

kcook,thats the info im after,thanks alot man,you are prolly right,19s would be much better for what i really want,but i cant seem to find many 19 inch used setups. Im building a gs on a tight budget.you have any pics of your car setup on the fsport and 19s, what percent compromise was there in the ride qual in your opinion

^ It's hard to say. My car is AWD so the ride was a bit rougher than most would experience due to the "AWD wobbles". I can tell you that with the 19's and springs, I was not rubbing at all. The springs only lower your car about an inch, and with the 19's I was running (Fronts are 245/35ZR19's 8.5 wide 35 offset and Rear are 275/30ZR19's 9.5 wide 40 offset), it was a very conservative set up. The ride was nice, but everyone's opinion is different.
