I just installed Hawk Performance Ceramic pads and reviewing this thread (and the links) first made it that much easier.
i would do it before u replace everything, so the new pads/rotors dont accidentally get paint on them. make sure when u clamp the pistons, u compress them slowly, other wise you risk damaging them.
Paint on rotors or pads is not anything to worry about. The paint will be scraped off the first time you use the brakes.
