Default Forced induction for a 3GS AWD

Well,

What do you guys think? Since first seeing the TOM's Supercharger I've been thinking about doing it if it delivers a descent power gain. Since there isn't much info out on it that has yet to be determined and being a $10k guinea pig does not sound like a good option. I don't think there are any other options for superchargers for these cars. I also thought about doing a custom turbo kit for the bling factor of a front mount sitting behind the Job Design front bumper but, I don't think these transmissions are strong enough even with semi low boost. What do you guys think? Thanks in advance.

Chris

tc or sc it doesnt matter, you're still putting boost to a motor thats n/a. safest bet is to do a sc.

Agreed, but there is really no information available on the TOM's supercharger.

i'm not sure if there's any way to tune or reflash(?) ecu (sorry im not a turbo guy). correct me if i'm wrong.. i know there were many 2nd gen GS turboed, and SRT was one of the few companies, but there seems to be absolutely no support for 3GS so far.. not even single sc'ed is350 for that matter. i think there are some turbos in development for late model is and is-f, i guess time will tell?

I think it can be done...your hardest part is just how much boost can it handle. The IS350 does fine with up to 5lbs of boost with out any changes to the ECU or running AEM or anything similar. I am planning to test the waters in the near future.

IMO build it for a fraction of the cost. 10k is crazy for what we can push. The hardest part is the bracket but anyone can make that with some time. A local member here found someone that can make them for us so I plan to give this a try in a few months and start to piece it out. I just hope someone can tune the car being the lack of knowledge for this car. Once someone gets past this the sky is the limit if you want to spend the money.

You will start to see more options as the car gets older. From what I was told the 2gen GS was the same until the cost came down where more where buying it and also wanted to modify the car. I don't think the demand for the 3gen GS is really there yet for anyone to spend the money especially in this market.

Actually the demand was early in the 2GS cycle. The RMM and SRT kits were done early on and it was the lack of interest that killed those "kits" at the numbers they sold. Then we have slowly seen the on-off installs, which are always an option, but don't underestimate the cost of putting together a reliable FI setup. A thousand here a thousand there and pretty soon we are talking *real* money!

FWIW...
