Default reprogramming key cost?

So I bought a used key off ebay. I got it for about $50.00 and I think I got a great deal. I'm at Longo Lexus (S. California) as I am typing this thread on one of their computers and the service rep. is charging $115.00 to reprogram. Ive read in some of the posts here some are paying $25-50. Can someone help confirm if I'm getting ripped off?

I just had this done. First I called the Toyota dealership since there's not a Lexus dealership near me. They quoted me $115, which is ridiculous. I called Lexus of Mobile and they said just stop by any time and they'd do it for free. Pretty good considering I didn't even buy they key from them. Took less than 10 minutes.

It's even more ridiculous at Cerritos Lexus. Something like $250 for a new key and $115 for programming the key.

When u buy the car, dont they give you like a little peice of metal and has ur combination engraved in it? Isn't that supposed to be used to program your remote?

I was asking cause maybe you can have someone on the boards go and get ur key programmed with that little piece of metal for cheap and they can send it back to you?
