What ever said so far is true in the perspective of age, interests in mods, disposable income, etc.

Another perspective that wasn't mentioned though is purchasing new vs purchasing used. Younger demo could get into the IS or GS for shorter money if they were to purchase used as opposed to new. Considering that these cars have a better life expectancy, its much easier to buy a used GS with 30K, 50K, 100K+ miles and justify the cost of it because it'll last longer with little issues.

34/married/kids/house/boat/stocks/401K/Timeshare/what else did I miss??? LOL

My dad is 56 and he said he's just getting started.

kphu, great point, I did miss that. As prices have come down, especially 06 models, it allows young people to buy them.

Well, contrary to popular opinion, there are some of us old farts that are perfectly capable of voting, are reasonably computer literate, enjoy driving the tires off a GS, and are not the least bit intimidated by you young bucks. Remember, old age and treachery will always overcome youth and skill

I’m 60, married (for the forth time), no kids at home, good income, not ready for the rocking chair quite yet, love to travel, especially driving trips when I can exceed triple digits, and own my home – well my condo, as who wants to waste time on lawns and repairs!

I dont see what the big deal about being young and having these cars is. There will always be someone younger and richer than you. You should be proud of what you have and strive to have what you want. Cars can be status symbols or to someone who has something nicer they are status impairments. Is having a lexus young awesome to me, yes....but to a rich kid it could be slummin'

I graduated college thousands in debt at 22, by 26 I was a homeowner, college loans paid off, drove an IS350 everyday and modded 911 Turbo on the weekends. Something to be said for hard work. I thought I was doing well then I meet someone who is 24 with a Gallardo. All perspective.

I am 28, homeowner, single and I have a degree, yes I waste money on cars but thats what I love and always have.

im 23, working on a degree, baby girl due in august, hence why i sold the tc for the lexus, not married, renting (i was going to buy a house, but buying a house and car same year at 23 isnt easy). My debt minus my car is only around 2k. and i put close to half down on my gs, keeping my car payment the same as it was on my scion.

now, could i have bought some beater car and bought a house? yes. but i love nice cars, I pay for my own car/ins/gas, and after i bought my tc, i told myself my next car would be a current model with leather and wood. so here i am, renting for another year, with my lexus. tho we are talking to the landlords about a lease purchase right now.

^^^Looking back I wish I would have rented for another year saved that money and bought an even nicer house. i would have been rich compared to having a mortgage etc.. I guess I would have just bought a few more cars so its probably better off. There is nothing wrong with renting, just ask folks like me who bought in 06...
