just wondering if anyone has done this yet since the 3GS is fairly new and if there are any DIY's on this forum. also, if anyone knows anything about running a JL Cleansweep on the 3GS, this means keeping the factory head unit (who wouldn't right?)

thanks! that solves the issue of installing the amp+sub. but now i wonder if theres a way to install the JL cleansweep, as that link provides the process of tapping into the factory sub wires and using a hi-to-low convertor, which only allows for a limited SQ. i'm thinking of going to the parts department and getting a wiring diagram of the factory amp

I dont have any experience, but from my research it might be overkill if all your gonna do is add a sub/amp. Ive talked to a few shops that said a quality LOC would be more than sufficient. That said, the clean sweep will give you alot more options if you ever decide to upgrade the rest of the system. If you have the extra $$$ then go for it, but when I upgrade, I think I'll just use a quality LOC..

I have a completely upgraded system. Rockford Three-Sixty.2, Rockford Power Series components ( front / rear ), JL Audio 10W1's, Alpine V12 amps ( totalling 960 watts ).

i'm installing my JL Audio 12w7 sub w/ JL 1000/1v2 amp, and Focal components /w JL Audio 300/4 amp

Sounds like a sweet set-up, and your using all top notch equipment, I'm a big fan of focal products, should sound sweet. Are you gonna use the clean sweep...post some pics once you get it all done.

will do. was hoping to get a 4080 enclosure but don't think the 12w7 will fit. hopefully i can fabricate some type of custom enclosure as well
