Not sure but you should be able to find out using a multimeter. As an alternative, here are some other directions on taking the power off the cigarette lighter and then just tucking the RJ11 wire behind the trim:

I'm not sure which trim piece specifically you are talking about but I do recall other members wiring off the mirror. Do a search on the following terms and you should find what you need:

hard wire your radar detector

or

Hardwired Passport X50 to my new 3GS

I really really wish I had taken some pictures while installing mine. I actually followed instructions I found for the 2IS and it was pretty similar for the 3GS. There is a pretty long thread in the 2IS forum:
https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-...full-post.html

Look in the posts only about using power from the mirror... lots of info there...

I do recall the wire colors were different on my car than the 2IS... I forgot to note them down. I had taken off the top part and had direct access to the wire connector from the mirror to wherever it's supplied from and I used that in a trial and error (by touching the two wires to different parts of the connector until I figured out what worked.

I don't want to risk opening it all up again for fear of doing any damage to the trim pieces, but here are some pics of what my completed install looked like:
