hello all, I have a 2006 GS300 AWD. I just got her 2 mths ago and have an issue with the radio. When I turn the rear defogger on and have my FM (only) radio on, it knocks out and all i hear is static. I told this to my advisor and she said that this was a common issue with that years model and that there's no fix. Now, I find it horrible that a LEXUS is going to have such a rediculous problem when my old 88 Stanza, 93 Sentra, 95 Accord and 07 Camry never anything close to this situation. Is there anyone who may know a fix? I have seen the newer GS's with the shark fin antenna, was this a way to solve that issue? Any help or suggestions would be appreciates. Thanks - J

 

The shark fin antenna is for satilite radio, the FM antenna is in the rear window. I have never heard of this problem on this forum before so it cant be that common. I would get a second opinion because I think your Lexus advisor is full of you know what.

 

+1 agreed. if a second opinion from a different lexus dealership doesn't fix the problem, complain to lexus HQ. if you scream loud and long enough, lexus will find a way to make you happy

 

do you have tint?

 

Some metallic tints can cause interference with the radio.

 

I have the same problem....Any solutions?
