^ Drive a ES & LS, then drive a GS or IS. Handling, steering, road feel is like night & day. Of course comparing handling in the GS to a E class or 5 series won't be comparable, hence the large price difference . . .
Come on socalJD, are you serious? A Honda Acoord will handle better than the ES or a LS
The GS is a few thousand cheaper than the 528 or the base E class and same price as the Audi A6. Both the 528 and the A6 handles much better than the GS and the E class handles about the same as the GS but the ride is much smoother.

as it should be. just as ls is one level above quality of gs. no one will touch the gs if the es has the same or better quality (imho)
the current es350 build quality is horrible that's for sure. however if you look at previous generation, the es300/330 was so well built and solid, the quality was nothing less than the gs300/400/430 at all.
but still though, the two cars are completely different imho and those who really know what they are shopping for, they wouldn't look at both. those who look at both and end up choosing the ES, imho they got the right car...

Not all dealers are unwilling to deal. I got both my GS's for what I believe are excellent deals. You won't believe what I pay monthly for my car. It was my 4th Lexus from the same dealer and I did wait until the last couple days of the month, which helps bigtime.
