245/35/20 tires on a *lowered* AWD?
Anybody running 245/35/20 tires on a lowered AWD GS?
If yes, what product did you use to lower your car?
Do you have any significant issues regarding ride quality, fitment, rubbing or any other negative driving experience (i.e. bad vibration)?
Thanks.

Hey man heads up that the 245/35/20 is out of spec and you may run into some unwanted rubbing depending on the wheel offset and diameter. Are you thinks of 20's. You could probably get away with the 245/35 and a regular drop like nf210, h techs. Springs like df210's I would run the inspec 245/30 /20. To be honest I would say the ride quality is pretty solid with the h techs. I havent heard to many complaints about the nf210.

and yeah i know about the 35's being 1 size out of spec, but I'm concerned 'bout dem Brooklyn streets o_0 and the fact that I commute regularly between Queens and Brooklyn. I have been thinking about going 30's but I am weary about cracking rims. I've done that with my previous car, not a fun experience

245/30-20 is what would be the closest to the OEM spec.
what rims and offset? that will help out on what the right tire size will be based on that and your drop.
Ride is only going to be bad if you streets arent that great. I would go with a 19" rim on a lowered car if its your daily drive. Will look good enough and give you some extra protection
im lowered on OEM GSyders with no spacers and I think I can push them out ~20mm with out any fender mods I am lowered ~2".

the funny thing is, I was dead set on getting 19s at first, but after constant research I said ***** it lol, the look I want can be achieved easily with 20s, and I can't really seem to find any 19's that suit what I want. If I was going to do 19s they would have to be without a lip, and its HARD finding 19s w/o a lip that I find attractive for my 350 -- trust me, I've looked
And as far as the offsets, I'm looking at something in the mid 30's (~ +35 or so), I'm 90% certain I'm going non-staggered, but the thought hasn't completely settled. If I do go staggered, it's mostly to make sure the wheels can be swapped to another car if need be

Also, since I'm putting 20s on, the car will sit higher, I just don't want to look like a half-way donk rollin down the ave lol.

I understand what you're saying, but the wheel/fender gap on the AWD GS is a bit large for a luxury sports sedan imho. I was checking out the A6 as well as the 535xi while shopping around, they don't have such a large gap. If I lived in the Yukon Territory or something then yea, I probably wouldn't lower o_0.

If you are in NYC I would either go with the 20's with the out of spec 245/35 to be safer. Notice I said safer. The street in NY are horrible. I thought the freeways in LA were bumpy bec of the earthquake damage and repair. NY freeways/ turnpikes are at leasy twice as bad

Yep 245/30 is your best bet with a drop. I used the same rim & tires (F=245/35) from my G35 on the GS and the front rubbed when hitting dips and turning corners. Finally yesterday I got 245/30 now no rubbing at all. I guess it depends on your drop. I'm drooped on coils so I could of ajusted the height with my 245/35 but if you on springs and you rub, you either have to get front fender work done or change the tires, which both are costly. Might as well be on the save side and get the 245/30

I would NOT do 245/35R20 tires....
First off... what width wheels are you running? You cant simply throw out a tire size and hope it fits. There is a big difference between how it will fit on a 20x7.5 wheel to a 20x9.5 wheel.
either way you want a 30 series tire.... 35 will cause rubbing in some form or fashion. depending on the wheel width yo ucan vary it between 225 and 255.

I don't have awd but I'll chime in anyway since I have 245-35-20 in front and the conversation has gone that way.
When I had 245-35-20 all around, I had absolutely NO rubbing. None. The ride was incredibally sweet. Plenty of cushion all around. When I changed to staggered wheels, the rubbing came with it but only on dips. The rubbing is a lot less now that I've put 5K miles on the tires. Not many people go staggered on awd car so if you're doing non-staggered, 245-35 should be okay. This is just my opinion from my experience though. If it was awd I would say it with more certainty.

I also have 245-35-20 and no AWD and i wanna imput also. I agree with regiek. I rub on bumps and hard turns. Also just want to say that when i change tires, it will b 30 series. The Ride quality on 35 is really good tho.
