unless your headlight is on AUTO mode and just happens that your HID got turned on automatically when you high beam it
I will test again tomorrow but the lights were not in AUTO mode. The lights were in the OFF setting, the car was idling in park and the DRLs were on. When I flashed the high beam, I could have sworn I saw the HID lights flicker on...
only way to find out is for someone to do it for you in the car and you just stand out side...
i am sure your HID wasn't turned on.
I just tested it and I was right. The HID light comes on when you flash the high beams. The car was on with the light on OFF. When my friend flashed the high beam the HID lights came on at the same time as the halogen high beam bulb.
On both the RX and the GS, the HIDs comes on with the high beam. From the pattern I see with them, the high beams stop just below where the HIDs start, so it is necessary.
