As per another thread I started, I'm not hugely impressed with the Lexus audio system in the 2008 GS350. It's not that it doesn't go loud, I don't care about that - it just isn't high clarity imo. Voices and notes get drowned out at highway speeds, even though the interior is damn quiet. Things I noticed in music in my FX35 are lost in my GS. Washed out is the term I use to describe the quality.

There is a crapload of posts on audio in here, but I'm looking for what you think are simple upgrades that would improve the base audio system - are there any? Speakers, amps, etc. I'm not looking to spend $2k, but I am curious what others have done that have been happy with for listening pleasure.
