3GS owner's occupation? (merged threads)
Hey bro,
I make $20K less than you and can only afford to own a GS because I purchased used from someone who was able to pay cash for the car and got tired of it. I got it for $35k with 30k miles on it (imo good deal). To put some perspective into this, I have family members and friends who would consider me being wealthy cuz they make half of what I make. Someone always thinks someone else has or/is doing better but its not always the case. I live by this rule "in all things be content with what you have cuz someone, somewhere has it worse".
Oh by the way I'm an Operations Manager for a small plastics company.
DON'T WORRY BE HAPPY

It also has a lot to do with where you live......
When I was on Wall Street, we had Administrative Assistance that made 6 figures.....down here around the Beltway, it's almost the same.....
Anyone with a job can buy any car they want, it just depends on how much of your paycheck do you want going towards your car..10% or 100%, life is about doing whatever makes you happy..btw dentist here, work 4 days a week relax the other 3
who do you know would live in their car??? LOL
Hmm, the best way I could summarize it is "computer stuff." If I had to list all the jobs that are part of it...network setup/maintenance (physical+basic routing), general software development (Windows/POSIX), web development (not design), minor embedded development, support for network based workstations (~3k Unix workstations..mostly Solaris, some Linux).
I am currently unemployed though...as I was really pissed off they wanted to keep me on a 3 month contracts and didn't offer full time. Plus was getting bored of doing mostly support and the general bureaucracy of the place. At the end I just had enough and quit.
However, I do run a web hosting company, which draws in some income...plus a bunch of website maintenance and ad revenue.
