Default tire psi...

Hi - Just wondering what everyone had their psi at on their tyres. And whether its worth plumping them up a bit on a 450h due to the extra weight. (my book says - 38psi back and 36psi.

Also everytime you change the tire pressure to do you have to initialise the tire pressure warning system (switch under the dash)?

If you are on stock tires just put in what they recommend. The only time I would put in more is if I see that the out side of the tire wearing more then the centers, then give it a little bit more so it will wear on the inside.

And no, you don't have to initialize the system again unless you are changing out wheels and have a seconds set of sensors that are programmed to the car.

when changing the tires, do the TPMS have to be reset ? Trying to figure out if I have to go to dealership to change tires or can I go to a tire retailer.
Thanks

i don't think you need to reset the tpms. just need to be careful when changing the tires.
