We bought a Ford Expedition EL King Ranch Edition. Got a ridiculous deal on it and ordered it straight from the factory with every option possible on it. Not only did our local dealer honor our original price, but they also drove it to our house and brought us the paperwork to make it easier for us. They've also followed up with us about our new vehicle and we've been very pleased so far. We need the big SUV for a large family, dogs and we tow a ski boat in the spring/summer here in California. We looked at the larger Lexus SUV, but they are hard to find and marked up in price typically. The Ford was half the price and has every option we wanted. (auto-folding 3rd Row seat, heavy duty towing package, auto-closing rear tailgate, etc.)

I'm really surprised that Cadillac doesn't offer a loaner when servicing a car. Cadillac is the luxury division of GM. You'd think they would compete on the same level as Lexus, BMW and Mercedes when it comes to service. Lexus has been offering loaners since the early '90's...

Amen to that!!! That's what I've been saying to myself for the last 4 years of my lease. On top of that, Enterprise doesn't even have Cadillacs available to rent at their Valencia location and usually gave me an Impala or Taurus. That's a far cry from a Cadillac IMO.
My entire life, I would always hear people say, "This ____ is the Cadillac of our industry" which always meant the best in my mind. We owned two Cadillacs, both purchased from the same dealership and we still received substandard service. As you can probably tell, I am looking forward to the entire Lexus experience.
The funny part is I only wandered over to the Lexus dealership in Valencia because it's next door to my former Cadillac service center. On one of my 4 visits to fix the same problem (which still wasn't fixed when I turned in my STS.....LOL!!!) I had some time to kill and saw a GS 460 sitting on the lot. Once I sat inside and took it for a quick spin, I could care less if they fixed my Caddy because I was getting rid of it ASAP in exchange for my GS. I even took a hit on my lease to get out of the Cadillac as fast as possible.
although it doesn't make up for the piece of crap Escalade. Nothing but issues since I bought it new two years ago. The only reason I bought it is because they gave me a good deal compared to MSRP. I paid 51k, which was $13k off MSRP. Thinking about trading it in. I will not keep it past the warranty.
I paid $500 for the Clear Bra on my GS 460. At first I thought it was a "pack", where a dealer throws on an add-on to nickel and dime you on a deal. However, after doing a little research I found that this was a fair price and it did protect the paint on my car.
The Clear Bra protects the entire front end, bumper, paint around the headlights and goes about a quarter of the way up the hood. They also put some smaller pieces on the side mirrors to prevent damage there as well. When my car is clean, you barely can notice that it's even there. When it gets dusty, you can make out the lines of the Clear Bra, but only up close. Nobody can see anything different while you're driving.
I would go as far to say that I would put this Clear Bra on every other car I purchase from now on.
Just a quick update....did a long highway trip to Pismo Beach from the Los Angeles area and averaged 25.7 MPG for the entire trip. I drove between 70-90 MPH the entire way and never got too crazy hitting the accelerator. That's ridiculous for a V8 IMO. With my former Cadillac STS, I couldn't ever break 22 MPG with conservative highway driving.
Thanks for the update. That's great to hear you're really enjoying your GS 460 and getting better gas mileage than your Cadillac STS. One question, are you using premium unleaded gas in your GS 460 and did you use premium unleaded gas in your STS?
