20's and rubbing
if i run 245/30/20 with a 35 offset, will i rub????
or would it be safer to run 235/30/20 experts please :) |
35 offset with 2ppl in the back will rub ............i tried
|
40 offset, 245/30/20 9.5' lip yes or no or rather 9' max
no rubbing problems with 40 offset?? |
umm.. the width of the wheel would be needed to determine if it will rub or not.
also, if its for the front or the rear. |
My rears are 20x10 with a 41 offset. No rubbing at all, no mods either. I was thinking about running a 5mm spacer to get it more flush, given I will prolly have to shave the lip on the quarter panel a little. With the 41 offset now, I have just about 3-4mm more to get it flush.

Looks like you're lowered - don't you have springs or coilovers ???

Springs. When you lower the car, it cambers the wheels in, thus eliminating some rubbing problems. When they had test fitted the wheels on before the drop, they were sticking out a little and I was worried but then after the drop everything was fine.
Think about it this way - if you have a stock car and load the trunk with bags of concrete dropping the back end 1.5", it will camber exactly as much as if you lowered the car with 1.5" lowering springs in the back. If your car was rubbing before being lowered, it will not rub less after being lowered. |
I have tein h techs with 40 offset tsw wheels 20x8.5 front and 20x10 rear with 245/30 front and 275/30 rear and absolutely no rubbing. The offset is key for rubbing. Also you are going to want to keep the new wheel set up close to stock diameter so stick witrh 245/30 or something close. I dont like the idea of putting a narrower tire than the manufacturer already did. It should be the same or larger. generally larger. So I would go with 245/30. In fact next time I will try 255/30 in the front. They use this size alot at local dealerships anf it looks very nice and gives you a slightly higher amont of grip relative to the 245. good luck
