Why is there now remote start?
Cuz the Koreans are doing every single possible thing in their power to get their hands on your money, and take Toyota's top-seller spot.
Toyota is ... complacent, or as they will tell you ... they have different priorities. Every year, the Koreans are becoming a bigger and bigger threat to the Japanese.

I would never drive a Hyundai. And yes, Hyundai is an underrated car... so they WILL do anything and everything to make the sale. Keep in mind, remote start is a few bucks extra out of their pockets, but they will charge a tad bit more. It might entice people who are looking at Toyota, Honda, etc... the lower platforms of cars.
Yes, its frustrating, but what are yo gonna do? ... Oh, yeah, go to any reputable place and for about $400-$500 you get remote start for your GS350. Check out a link in my signature for the post about my remote start install details. With this brutal East Coast cold we got right now - remote start is by far my favorite mod, next to clear bra
Works like a charm, BUT you need to deal with an experienced place, preferably recommended by your dealership.

What I don't get is those cars with remote and push start buttons, like our 06 330xi, if they bothered to make a button to start the car, and a button to lock and unlock, why can't they just program the remote to also start the car? I mean they have all the right ingredients, it's just a very simple program they need to get the button to start by remote.... why are they holding back?
