Intuitive Parking Assist
I don't have Intuitive Parking Assist, when you pull in to a parking space with a wall in front of the car, does it beep or tell me how far away or what does it do?

This system has radar on the front and rear of the car and gives a signal on the dash and/or on the nav screen that shows distance as mapped by different colors, green, yellow and red. Along with this there is a beeping that intensifies as you get closer. I use it daily because I have a tight spot in my garage and need to pull up about 4 inches away from stuff. So, using this I can predictably do it and have never hit anything. Think of it as a high tech hanging golf ball from the cieling.(I knew someone who hung one and when it hit his windshield, he knew he was where he wanted to be.)
The other thing that is nice is using this with the backup camera to parallel park.
The intuitive part is that it recognizes which way the tires are turned and will not beep if you will miss the object on the current path. It's smart!

I love this option. I really annoyed that I could not get the rear sunshade AND the park assist. But the park assist ended up being my favorite option. It has saved my rear bumper from getting messed up in NYC parking garages.

Intuitive park assist also shows you on the screen which way to turn your steering wheel to avoid an object. Also, I believe it uses sonar, not radar as stated earlier.

No it doesn't appear to be a NE thing.
If you build a GS350 on the Lexus website for my zip (92038) there are only 6 optional configurations to choose from (besides the base model). Of those 6, only the 3 more expensive packages that include ML also include the Intuitive park.
ALL 6 configurations have the power rear window shade so it's pretty standard around here from what I've seen.

I like this feature so much I never turn it off. Can help you ,for instance, if a motorcycle is in your blind spot close to your car or you pull into a parking space with a shopping cart in front of you. I only wish there was a fix so we could use the rear camera all the time too.

I knew before it also shows on the navigation screen. I forgot about this display.
Maybe because I don't see it anymore.
So today I go to INFO screen ->Lexus Park Assist screen -> Settings screen.
There are 3 items:
STATIC
DYNAMIC
Display OFF
I can't seem to toggle the Display ON again. Or is there a selection Display ON?
Does anyone know why?
My Intuitive parking switch is on.
Thanks.

I turn my parking sensors off in the following situations.
Car wash
Downtown, people walking in front or behind at crosswalks. There is no staying in the lines as a pedestrian in Chicago. Car goes ape-sh7t at a light.
Drive up/thru (Excessive beeping making me insane while I order my tacos.)
I would think my radar detector would go nuts if it was constantly sending out a radar signature. You're probably right.

After market intuitive park assist
Has anyone gotten the after market intuitive park assist and does it work as well as the original one that comes with the ES350. I just purchased a 2009 certified ES350 and realized it doesn't have that feature. I found out I can get Lexus to put it in my car for about $1000 (front and back). Don't think that includes the rear view camera.
Just wondered if anyone has gotten this and can tell me if they are happy with it.
Also thanks for any advice on using this forum. Can't find instructions anywhere.
