Cool ClearBra in DFW

Can anyone recommend a ClearBra installer in the Dallas/Ft.Worth area? I just purchased a Black '07 GS350 and want to protect it. From doing my research, I understand that the black color is the most difficult to do correctly. Also, which product do you recommend? Thanks in advance!

There are several topics on which product to recommend if you'd like to search.

Bottom line is, every installer has their preferable product most likely, and truth is, all of them are good enough, I don't think there's a huge discrepancy. Go with 3M or VentureShield. Some people have a third kind but I can't recall the name on top of my head.

As for installer, you could ask your salesperson and see what they recommend. Mine's getting done at the dealership actually. Tint shops can do it.

Thumbs up D. I. Y.

When I got my GS350, I was also searching for clearbra installer.

Here is what I found back in November in 2006 for the kit (hood, fenders, front bumper, and mirrors) with installation:

1. Goto 3M website and locate installer in DFW area, I found one in Fort Worth and he was asking for $600.00;
2. Sewell Lexus for $800.00;
3. Purchase a self intallation kit for $41.00 including shipping (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/LEXUS...spagenameZWD1V).

First 2 choices, you have to leave the vehicle overnight. it takes about 4 to 5 hours to install the kit, and couple hours to dry it.

Since I like to do things myself, I chose to spend $41.00 and try to installed the kit myself. It took about 6 hours to install the kit all by myself, it would be much easier if I gotten extra hands to help me with the installation.

Once it was finished and dry overnight, I drove it to a friend of mine who had the clearbra installed by the dealer. We both agreed that my installation was better than the dealership and my kit was thicker than the 3M kit (0.8mm vs 0.3mm). Not bad for a rookie!!! or is beginner's luck!!!

Personally, I would give it a try myself. At best you can save $550.00 to $750.00 for future modification on your toy. At worst you burn $41.00 in your pocket, then another $600.00 to $800.00 to others to correct the mess!!!

all are similar in product reliability, EXCEPT 3M AERO, not auto, but AERO. You can have them special order it. This is superior to all out there. Now it's a little pricier, but it's thicker and lasts longer, and out performs all other products. It's probably 50% better than even the 3M auto.

My 3M is 0.8mm! Is that the Aero?
