Fuel Door Closure Issue
#17
Well, I did not have the problem until 5 months, 6,000 miles and many fill ups. And then...............it happened.
Took it to the dealer and they did some 'adjustments' (got a free car wash) and it has been fine for a month now.
I owned a 1999 GS300 and never had 1 problem with it in 8 years.

sorry to bring this old thread back, but I just had to happen to me out of nowhere.
Is this a DIY fix or do i have to go the the dealer to get this fixed? Reason im asking is because the car is out of warranty and I don't want to pay a ridiculous labor fee for a simple fix I could do myself. Thanks in advance

Fuel door closing prevented
Same thing happened to my Lexus RC350 FSport last week. Nice to know this is a commonplace problem with our cars. Will have dealer check it next time I am near there...

I filled up another GS 350 (2009) and the fuel door shut fine. Mine (2007) still is pretty tough to close. Should I give some grease a try or shave some off the plastic piece that latches onto the release rod?
