What the dealer just told me about TSB lists................
I handed my 'brake dust' TSB to the service guy a few minutes ago and he asked me if he could keep the copy. I said sure. I've got it on my computer. I then asked him if he would give me a TSB list for my car, so I did not have to explain a problem, just hand him the TSB, like I did with the brake dust problem.
He told me that they cannot do it, because people would all want this 'stuff' done and it would cost too much money. IOW - they are hoping that people 'live with the problems' - not a good plan for Lexus in my judgement.
Oh well - I am ready to subscribe to a list for my car. Does anyone know a great source for all the TSBs for my Vin Number?

TSIBs are issued by Lexus to outline procedures for resolving specific problems that are reported by owners in order to minimize diagnosis and repair time by techs. They are not the same as recalls so they are not mandatory. I don't think your dealership is wrong in feeling that way. Not all cars are affected by the same problems so repairs are done on an as needed basis. If you looked at the number of TSIBs available for all cars out there, people would have their cars in 10-20x a year to take care of issues that don't affect their cars.
That said, I think TSIBs should be made available to those who ask.

Robert,
Yeah, I'd like to have the list. - Got the new pads on this morning! - Cleaned my wheels up - even after the 'free Lexus Wash' - Maybe I'll only have to clean them every couple of weeks now

When I had my ES and Lexus brought out the first tsb for the "hesitation" problem, I remember my dealer asking me if I really felt my car needed the computer fix, because they didn't want everyone coming in just for the sake of coming in. I pointed out that there was a record of my mentioning the problem long before the tsb was issued.

Thanks for the link. I was able to get in, but I did not see the famous 'brake dust' TSB. Got any idea of why it would not be there?

You won't need to clean them even after 3 weeks and 1600 miles. I would have gone longer but I couldn't stand looking at how dirty the rest of the car looked. I guess it's a good thing if I can now space my car washes based on how dirty the car is instead of how dirty the wheels are.

Good question. BTW, the credit for pointing this link to me goes to Osokuko I'm maintaining a full list of TSIBs for ES350 section of the forum, so he kindly pointed me out to that thread. And, I was not able to find that specific TSIB either. He told me it was posted at TundaSolutions website. Still, its a mystery to me, but I'm happy we have this forum where you can find out about these things.
