Thanks for the reassurances! My car is in service getting the pads put on as I write this message. Will update and let you know if there's anything new.

Ha dit done yesterday. I do think the other pads perform better. Is it worth it to have no dust and have them under warranty by Lexus? I believe so. I

Just talked to my service manager, since I'm getting closer to 5k service. They reassured me that after the brake pad replacement if I'm not happy they can switch it back.

I just had mine replaced by my Lexus dealer an hour ago, for free. That is the correct TSB number. It sounds like your Lexus dealer is a jerk! - I'd call the service manager and demand that they get replaced for free or find a another dealer.

And, if you have to find another dealer, be SURE to let Lexus HQ know you have and WHY!

hey guys I called dealer and they said" Hello! This is shaunte from Lexus of Glendale yes we do have those particular breaks in stock an those pads for $95 .And the labor charge is $190.00 all together your looking at about #$285.00 plus tax 8.25.To have breaks put on the vehicle.
You can either call to schedule the appointment or you can schedule via email. I"m thinking just getting the pads and have them install someplace cheaper.. what do think guys?

I think they are jerks! - This should be totally free of charge to you. Call the service manager, tell him the TSIB number and ask him why he will not fix the problem under warranty.

Take the TSIB with you when you get the brakes done. It CLEARLY states that the pads/labor are covered under the original Lexus new car warranty.

Keviner, if you have $285 burning a hole in your pocket, you can go ahead and send it to me You have to know your rights and have to demand what you are entitled to! Tell them you will contact Corporate Lexus office and will report the dealership.

Just want to thank all you guys for bringing that TSIB to my attention. I took my 06 GS430 in for the normal 25k service, and told them I'd like the new low-dust brake pads that would end my suffering of the dreaded black powder (which I left unwashed to make the point), and they did it without any hesitation. Returned it to me all washed, to boot!

Only drove home the 12 miles, and the brakes were slightly less grippy, but that may change when they conform to the discs after a while. I ought to have plenty of brake use in the next few days, winding through Oakland to bypass the melted 580 freeway! Sheesh.

Thumbs up Yeah, No More Dust on My Wheels!!!

I had my low dust braked pad replaced 2 weeks ago, free of charge of course.

NO MORE BRAKE DUST!!!

Except the braking performance have been cut down at least 30 percent, to me anyway... But overall, trade off is worth it!!!
