Not in suburbia where there are almost no street lights. Everyone has a different view on the looks vs. safety trade-off. After all, there are people riding motorcycles on the highways...
I'm mature enough to weigh safety over looks.
Also, don't kid yourself about cops. If you get stopped for something, they will likely notice how dark the tint is and they will measure how dark it is. They carry small electronic devices for this purpose. I speak from experience.

I know if you get titanium tint, it might interfere with the signal of an antenna (alarm, tv tuner), but not the nav.
So if you dont have any antennas, then dont worry about the type of film you are getting
