So they road tested the AWD and it SPANKED the Aude 4. Just think.... if they had tested the GS350 RWD with competition Frontline wheels they might be facing charges for abusing the Audi S4..... Couldn't resist that note...

5.3 for the AWD? Amazing. If it was RWD, chock that time to 5 Seconds possibly less?

That's absolutely sick for an AWD car

That must mean the GS460 will be sub 5s 0-60

Sign me up for a GS-F or GS460 in a couple years. Where do I
put the deposit?

So I got curious and went to the Lexus website to check out
the 0-60 times and this is what I saw :

GS430 - 5.7s
GS350AWD - 5.8s
GS350 - 5.7s

Definitely looks like there is some "fudging" going on with those
numbers... The GS460 cannot come soon enough.

It seems that Lexus is very conservative with their official data. When R&T tested ES350, they also found 0-60 performance to be 0.4s less than advertised time.

edit: haha, ServerTech and I posted at the same time

On the other hand, R&T reported 0-60 in 5.6 and 1/4 mile in 14.0 for the LS 460, wheras Lexus claims 0-60 in 5.4 and 1/4 in 13.8. Then again, the test panel indicated that it was 101 degrees during the test and it was unclear whether they corrected their numbers for that:

That GS350 is a beast. Lexus has done a tremendous job with the GS 350. I can't wait for the mighty GS 460 comes out to lay the m, e-class Audi and the 550 to rest to claim the king of the hill.

I wish road and track do a comparo with the mid-lux v/6 since they are the ones that most people buy.

I'd love to believe those numbers but I'll wait until someone else can duplicate them. Looks like they may have tested on the same downhill track used for their recent test of the IS350 which got to 60 in 4.9. Those numbers are within a tick of an auto BMW 550i and as good or better than the fastest times i've seen for the new LS460 which sports a 10% better power-to-weight ratio & the new 8-speed trans. Historically, Lexus has not been conservative with their performance numbers. With the exception of IS numbers (magazine tests before R&T's last average about 5.2 vs Lexus claim of 5.3) and the new ES 350, I don't recall any other cars being able to beat performance claims. I've not yet seen one test that replicates the claimed 5.4 sec run by the new LS460, and before this, I've never seen a GS beat Lexus' numbers (including last 2nd generation). They used to claim 5.9 sec to 60 for the last LS430 and nobody ever came close.

If they can be verified, I may be a buyer, but they just seem to good to be true.

Businessweek did from their test : http://www.businessweek.com/autos/co...214_826825.htm

For such a big vehicle, the LS 460l is scary fast. Lexus says the regular LS 460 can jump from 0 to 60 in 5.5 seconds but I figured the long version would be slower. I was wrong. The 460l weighs 4,332 lbs, just 88 lbs more than the 460, and it's equally fast. I consistently got 0 to 60 times of 5.4 and 5.5 seconds in the 460L . . .
