Here are my thoughts:

Even though it would be cool to have a high revving V10 in the GS-F, I don't see it happening. I would think Lexus would want to keep the V10 in the LF-A exotic coupe to keep it exclusive, and a high revving V10 with weak low end torque is only good for a lighter weight coupe. A heavier GS-F will need a high low end torque powertrain. But then both the M5 and S6/S8 have a high revving V10, so my above logic are proven not true by those cars

Lexus's thoughts are shown by their LF-S concept car. That car have exactly the size and shape of a GS, just much more muscular. Lexus idea is a V8 with high-output electric motors for a hybrid 4WD. I see them using the IS-F 5.0L V8 with 420 HP, then add 50~100 HP from the electric motors. With a combined HP of 450~500HP, instant explosive torque with 4WD. That make good sense, it will smoke all M5, S6 off the line and continue to pull hard. Basically a really cranked up GS450h with 4WD.

The LF-S is my ideal dream sport sedan. But if it become reality, it will be so expensive! Let's see, the GS450h is already $66k, add a bigger V8, higher output electric motors, 4WD, bigger wheel/tire/brakes. Damn, probably $80k But it will be a few years from now, I will have enough by then
