Any reliability issues with 06 GS300 AWD?

And, which would be a more reliable car in your opinions:
This car OR 07 ES 350.

I know the older GS was one of the most reliable cars ever, according to CR magazine, but how is the new gen doing?

I follow the GS forums because I used to own a `99 GS300, and you are correct about the reliability of this car because I never had a problem with my GS in the 4 years that I owned it. I would not categorize the complaints that I have read here about the 3rd generation GS as reliability issues. Those complaints had more to do with rattles and squeaks that wouldn't go away than debilitating problems. In this connection, I would imagine that those problem have been solved for the most part, since the 3rd generation GSs have been on the street for over a year. Because the new ES is basically a Camry underneath, I would think that that car is almost perfect. Thus, it would seem to be a question of preference. From what I've heard about the Camry and ES, they handle almost as well as all-wheel-drive cars. So, the fact that one of your choices is an AWD might not provide any more weight or advantage to your selection of one over the other. For what it's worth, I think that the GS is nicer looking (although the ES costs less).

Actually, during the first two years, the 2nd gen GS was did not fare well with CR. Over the years the GS evolved into a rock solid model.

I'd expect the same to hold true for the 3rd gen...by year three all the minor problems should be worked out.

I think it's true for any new model, even with lexus. They need some time to iron out minor details.
