Yep, they said to just wash and wax as normal, and they even gave me a roll of thin masking tape so I can tape over the visible edges to prevent wax buildup.

Yeah, that way it'll prevent wax from getting stuck on the edge of the clear bra and you just peel off the tape after buffing the wax off.

just the edge across the hood. that's how you should do it (i do it all the time and was advised so too). otherwise you will easily high wax and residue along the edge, over time it's a big no-no

I was at lexus of northborough a few weeks ago and was admiring the clear bra on a GS... it seems like a great idea. But when I asked a salesperson how much does it cost for the material and installation on a car, he said $600. For $600 I could have the entire front fascia repainted 3 times over again at my local autobody shop, and they do oem quality repaints. It doesnt make sense to spend more money insuring what can be rebuilt for much less.

You guys should set up shop in NY. I'm sure you'd get a lot of business.

Wow, good discussion going. I'm still trying to decide whether or not to get a clear bra... So far, I have a couple of good sized chips up on the front bumper since I drive to LA from OC a couple times a week... Keep the opinions coming, its interesting to hear. The wax build up thing is a pretty big negative in my opinion....

Red face Clear Bra on Glacier Frost...

My 300 AWD is Glacier Frost. I was worried about being able to see the line from where the bra starts. I saw a blue BMW with a visible line and was not too happy with the way it looked. However, after having my car for about two weeks, I got about three chips on the hood.
I did some checking with people in this area and got the clear bra installed for $995. I was a little set back by the price, but the place I got it installed took the time to explain the whole process. We actually got our 350Z clear bra installed the same day. Rob Freeman in Ellicott City, MD own Proform and he did the installation.

The line stuck out as soon as I saw the car. After the clear bra dried, it blended in more. Rob told us the hardest color to install the clear bra on is black.

For anyone considering this process, get it. I have no regrets.

If there is anyone that can do it for $200, $250, i'm down. But for 5, 6 bills it is not worth it at all i don't think.............unless it's for a Bently! lol
