Best xm radio install?
I'm interested in adding xm radio to my 2006 GS300. I'm sure the dealer will do it, but I'm betting it will be super-expensive. Are there other ways to get it installed so it is integrated with the car audio system? Do aftermarket people have a compatible xm radio to install, and will they be able to get my car apart without messing it up? Any experiences to relate?
Also, the ones that are port-installed have an ugly black box glued onto the trunk!!! I assume the reasonable thing to do is to have the antenna installed on the rear shelf. Does anyone know how well this spot works? I understand there aren't a load of xm satellites up there, and I'm concerned the body (or even the heater or antenna in the rear window, and almost certainly the sun shield) will hurt reception.
All advice & experience appreciated.
