I agree that stealers charge to much for oil changes and a tire rotation I could do in an hour in my own garage but.....if you drive an expensive luxury car you should expect SOME maintenance expense. The cars these days require amazingly little maintenance given the performance you get (my old M5 for example requires a valve adjustment every 15k, at least 2 hours of labor but that is why it revs to 7250rpm).
The best part about the BMW deal is the free brakes for 50k, usually at least two sets of rotors and pads. They would charge north of $1k for each brake job. Which of course I also did myself once the freebies were over (about $270 in parts for my wife's 323iT).

$180 for a 10k service is not that bad compared to other makes. Obviously, prices vary by dealership. Some have a captive audience with no other dealers to compete with while others have competitors nearby that force them to keep their prices reasonable.The 10k service on my wifes Cayenne is over twice that at my local stealership, but their prices are higher since they are the only dealership within a 120 mile radius where Lexus has two competing dealerships within 30 miles of each other.
