the GS300 and GS430 have totally different braking systems. the 430 has larger front calipers and brake by wire, not on the 300.

Hello,

are the discs different, too? Overhere the disc size of GS300/430 front and rear is the same.

I believe you're mistaken. the GS430 has 13.1 inch front disc and the GS300 has 11.6 inch front.
both have 12.2 rear.

high friction brake pads are standard equip for GS430 front brakes only.

Christian could be right, the euro and us GS are different on some points.

Hello,

the euro GS front brakes are 334mm. The smallest wheels which will fit both GS are 17". So this means the euro GS300 has bigger brakes.

I don't think the 17s fit over the brakes on the US 430, do they?

in Hong Kong the new GS300 comes stock with 4-pot calipers. I expect that Europe will be the same.

Do you know what kind of steel (or alloy) Lexus uses for rear rotors for GS430? Specific heat property of the raw material determines how much energy rotor can store before fading. According to StopTech's new white paper, better material with higher specific heat absorbs same amount of kinetic energy with smaller increase of temperature when brakes convert it into thermal energy.

GS430 is on my target to replace my 2nd generation Acura TL, if Lexus does nothing, I will look for rear BBK for better cooling - hello larger rotor and directional vanes

Does the test represent real world use of the product?
Besides this test , do the brakes perform up to spec as per DOT?
