Rear Seat Cover
I will be picking up my new 2006 GS AWD in a couple weeks. At times I need to haul around my dogs and was wondering if anyone knew of a place to get a good seat cover for the back seat?
Thanks!
Thanks!
I don't know of a premade cover, but I have a large German Shepherd and here's what I use.
Home Depot sells ribbed black rug about 3' wide. It's designed for a hallway runner, sold in any length and I think it's only a few bucks a foot. I get one piece for the seat, and one piece for the seatback. It's a bit wider than the seat, so I let a bit flop over the edge. Then I cut it with heavy scissors for the hump and to make it match well. The seatback piece is slipped under the seatbelts and stays up. The rug has a rubber backing, so it does not slip around.
The black blends well with my black seats, and the entire thing rolls up easily when I have passengers. It's heavy duty enough that a big dog will not hurt the seats.
BTW, my last dog liked to stand on the front center compartment, and that is very soft easy to damage leather. I had a leather maker make a custom cover for that.

Dr Foster & Smith and PetEdge have good pet stuff. You can decide what you need based on how messy your dogs are after walks, etc.:
