I'mt rying to find a way to get around having to turn the bluetooth on all the time on my RAZR. It's not always on, so sometimes it takes a few tries to get the two to connect

Sony T68i, iPAQ hw6515, Blackberry 7100g results
I've been a lurker in these forums for awhile and finally have something (I hope which is helpful) to post. Thanks to all of you for all the helpful information you've put out here in the past!
I've worked with three phones recently with my 2006 GS300 Bluetooth. Here are the results:
General things I've noticed:
Sony Ericsson T68i:
(2003 GX470 and 2006 GS300)
I've worked with three phones recently with my 2006 GS300 Bluetooth. Here are the results:
General things I've noticed:
- Limitation of 9 characters in car phonebook entry
- Still haven't figured out how to encode "pause" character in dialing string
- Only one number allowed per entry (e.g., Brian - h and Brian - w are two separate entries)
Sony Ericsson T68i:
Good voice quality
Ability to transfer multiple entries from phone to car at one time
No noticeable limitations
iPAQ hw6515:Ability to transfer multiple entries from phone to car at one time
No noticeable limitations
Good voice quality
Annoying (loud) hum between time call is initiated and when it is answered
I could transfer only one entry at a time from the phone to the car
Bluetooth 7100g:Annoying (loud) hum between time call is initiated and when it is answered
I could transfer only one entry at a time from the phone to the car
Excellent voice quality
No way to transfer entries from 7100g phonebook to car (or vice-versa)
No noticeable limitations (other than the phone book).

Robik,
Can you tell me the steps you took to let the GS recognize your Sony Ericsson T68i? I followed the Bluetooth connecting instructions described by the T68i manual without any success. Maybe it was something I neglected to do......
Thanks in advance!

Sorry for the delay in replying. I didn't do anything special - chose "add phone" from the menu in the car, and made sure Bluetooth was activated on the t68i. Once the connection was made, I entered the passcode given by the car into the telephone, and the link was made.
Please contact me if I can be of help on this ...

Love the phone, but transferring the phonebook to the GS is not one of it's strong points. You can only do it one entry at a time, and many of the entries don't transfer correctly. I had cases where the name came across, but the phone number didn't. I had other cases where the phone number came across with unprintable characters instead of numbers. In almost every case, I had to turn the car off and back on between transfers for it to even work.

Motorola v600
Motorola v600 works great. Can only transfer 1 phone book entry at a time, but after entires have been transferred I see the callers name on my NAV screen.
Would be nice to be able to transfer the entire phone book at once... anyone know how to do this with any other Moto phones?

Blackberry
Do any of you have a Blackberry? My dealer said that it's a Verizon issue, but no one in this forum has mentioned Blackberry's in general. The bluetooth syncs up okay, but it doesn't want to work. My company requires me to have a Blackberry, and I'm able to switch providers if I have to. If it's a problem with Blackberry's in general I'm not even going to bother with it.

I have a motorola V710 that works with my GS to an extent. The phone stays in an auto bluetooth mode so whenever I get in the car and start it, it automatically connects to the car which is nice. The only problem is that I cannot transfer any phonebook entries. When I try it drops the connection. So I just make calls from the phone for now.

We're using a Moto E815 that connects and makes calls through the car fine. It wouldn't transfer phonebook so I picked up a Sony from Cingular. Used it to transfer a phone book into the car and returned before 3 day period to get full refund.

Verizon BT Recommendations
I am about to buy a new Verizon BT phone. Told 3 weeks ago by Verizon that they will have the Razr phone this month. Wondering if anyone has a Verizon Razr yet and if it can successfully transfer the phone book?
Otherwise, any other recommendations on which Verizon phone works best?
