i used Suntek Carbon film. it is not cheap, but it is carbon-dyed and carries lifetime warranty, including fading. looks and works great. here is the link http://www.suntekfilms.com/carbon.htm

and sam is right, usually the dealer outsources it and only specifies the darkness, but not the material. the dealer's tinter actually does not carry this type of film, so this time around i found my own tint shop.

Hi Guys,

Has anyone with a 2006 GS with ML noticed a degredation in AM radio reception after getting their windows tinted (non-metallic)? FM radio reception comes in just fine. Just curious. Thanks.

Just had Llumar 35% non-metalic tint put on and have had no radio or satellite or NAV reception problems.

Thanks for the info DrComputer. Guess I'm unlucky.

FYI, I took the car into the dealer and they checked and rechecked the wiring. They even swapped out the radio, but couldn't find the source of the problem. The dealership then called Lexus, and they were told that ANY aftermarket tint job will affect the radio. I have the same tint on a G35 coupe with no reception problems. The G35's antenna is also built into the back windshield. I'm using ONYX window film made by MADICO.
