Are leases for the GS430 really THIS high??
On the Lexus website, a nicely optioned GS430 is over $900/month and I think that's without tax!!! I'm shocked to say the least. I can get an S-class for that or an A8L, loaded ($76k car) for significantly less - namely, $880/month with tax included! This is all for 36 months, 12k/year, no cap cost reduction.
Unreal - why are the rates so high? The resale of any Lexus is fantastic, and should be well over 60% in 3 years, so the money factors must be terrible.
I am seriously considering this car, but any car priced around $55-60k with such an historically high resale value should be leasing at no more than $700/month with tax included. No way. Hope things change by the end of the year.

Lease Figures
I am just starting my research into the GS. I purchases a GX470 in October/November of last year and went to great lengths to ensure that I received the best lease value possible. I used USBank who had a 39 month lease term with approx 4% rate and approx 60% residual. So, you just had to purchase the vehicle at the best price and plug your numbers in and you'd be good to go.
I've read on the posts there is 3.5% leasing out there, but you never know who is offering what rate at any time until you zone in. When I tried to get Lexus financing, they really tried to make a few extra bucks there--well, more than a few thousand extra bucks, so I financed elsewhere.
BTW-I ended up going through USBank and Jim Falk Beverly Hills Lexus, Fritz. Amazing guy, and it went so smoothly. They delivered the vehicle to my door for just $350! I live in Phoenix.
If anybody has any lease variables they are quoted or used, please post them and we can compare.

yea, I was quoted something similar on a loaded GS430.... 39 months, 15k miles per year, $4k total due at signing.... $800+ per month....
no deal.... I went with a loaded 2006 M45.... $58k sticker, same terms above and $631 + tax per month.....

Money factor
The lease payment is affected by the cap cost (the price you negotiate to buy the car), the residuel, and the money factor. When I leased my 02 SC430 and 02 LS430, I leased them through Lexus Financial and I put down 9 security deposit and reduce the money factor by 0.0009 (roughly 2.1% saving in interest rate term and about $100 or so saving a month for the SC). You need to check with Lexus Financial to see if they still allow it. At the time, the finance manager in my dealer don't know about it and has to check with LFS to find it out. With the GS so new, the cap cost is probably very close to the msrp. And the dealership probably pat some addition percentage into the money factor. Residuel is set up by Lexus Financial (if you lease through LFS) so you don't have to negotiate. Best way is to just shop around or go to Edmunds "ask about Lease" forum to find out the program details offer by Lexus. Bank lease sometime sound good, but you need to look at the fine print. I leased an Rx300 through US bank and turn out they charge 500 desposit fee that we didnot catch when we sign the paper (and later when we asked the finance manager, he claimed he didn't know either about it either)..

What do you mean by 9 security deposit?

9 deposit
At the time that I signed the lease, I gave them additional $7000+ of security deposit (It is not exactly 9* my monthly payment but fairy close). When we terminated the lease, they just return the deposit to us. And in return for the additional deposit, LFS lower our money factor by 0.00009 (0.00001 for each additional deposit). And with the lower money factor, we save about $100 a month for the SC and similar for the LS also.

I can get a loaded A8L for less than the GS, and there is a $15,000 difference in price for the two cars...Lexus needs to brighten up the terms a bit here...

security deposit
es, you let LFS use your money but it is not free. The reduction in month payment (about 100 a month) amount to about 13 -14 % annual compound tax free return on the security deposit (7000+) for the duration of the lease. Wish I can find more investment. like this. But wifey like the CLK55 convertible instead so we are out of Lexus for now....

Well understand that lease deals are made many times to either push slow selling models or models where a company is nervous.
The A8 is a slow selling model so they will make an attractive lease rate to entice consumers. The BMW 745 for the first time had lease deals in the 7 series history. Infiniti, we don't know how well the M45 is selling b.c they group the M35/45 sales together in sales figures but their history shows they do anything to sell a car.
From my understanding, Mercedes has a S-class 430 lease deal for $600 a month.
Below from autospie, the owner of the site leased one
When the guys at Glauser Mercedes sent me their lease special on the 06 S-class, I emailed them back to see if they had made an error.
*$699 a month for an S-Class? And only a 13 month commitment?
And it is NOT a stripped car!
You gotta be kidding me!
The average schmuck out there is paying $12-1500 PER MONTH on a 36-60 month lease!
The GS is meeting sales expectations without a lease deal so I wouldn't look for one soon. When sales slow down, that is when you will see one. I remember the last 2 years, the GS had lease deals in the paper here in Atlanta.
In Sunday's paper, Infiniti dealers already advertise the M35 lease for $399 a month (not sure of all terms). Its too early for lease deals, the car is not even a year old. Let the car sell on its merits for now.
