the interior is cashmere, but the shifter itself is actually grey leather and wood.

Yes he is correct. Thsi is a pic from an autoshow. The interior is cashmere but there isnt any wood on steering or the shifter....if it were to have wood in this color combination (like for all cars in the US)...then replacign the chrome part ont he shifter would be a brown wood, and also on the steering...

It's not really a gray. It's more of a brownish gray along with the main dashboard more than anything else.

I sat in a metador red with a cashmere interior it's really nice & elegant looking, it matches well with the maple wood too

Some of you are color blind

It's definitely greyish brown or taupe if you prefer.

Sorry to say this but my car is remotely related to your question/concern Chuck. My vehicle is Millenium Silver Metallic, but if you want to go there, the color balance of the asphalt in my sig photo is brownish by nature, not gray.

To be on topic, the same trim color for the cashmere/ivory interior lexus and toyota models have that same stone/brown/taupe color...not gray. There is an 04 RX330 in our household with the same type of dash trim color along w/the steering wheel...and needless to say it is not gray FYI.

to me, my seats & carpet are tan and my steering wheel, dash, shifter and other accents are grey. maybe there is some tan tint to it, but I can't see it and I don't really care what color people call it,as long as it looks good to me.

allright- my real concern is if the shifter on the 06 is the same color as this one on my ivory 01 GS430 and will it screw right on?

The shifter **** on the new GS is twist-on, but I think you will have a clearance problem with the shaft. With all this upgrade to 06 parts i.e. shifter **** and wheels, why not buy the car instead?

I thought all the steering wheels on the 06 were wood? Is it possible to get the steering wheel without wood? - sorry to hijack the thread
